Australia’s leading Electrical Systems and C4I solutions provider Cablex has partnered with Polish company WB Electronics to develop local Australian equipment with export potential.
Cablex CEO, Michael Zimmer and WB Electronics CEO Piotr Wojciechowski were joined by Australian Minister for Defence Industries, Hon. Christopher Pyne MP and Australian Ambassador to Poland, H.E. Paul Wojciechowski to celebrate the occasion.
“Supporting Australian Sovereign Capabilities is a top priority for Cablex in Australia,” Mr Zimmer said.
“Our partnership is the first time a Polish company has engaged with an Australian company for technology transfer and development of local capability in Australia,” he said.
“WB Electronics and Cablex will collaborate to work with local research and development organisations and innovation hubs to develop products that do not yet exist.”
“The focus will be on niche capabilities in the areas of communication and control systems, and UAVs to benefit the Australian defence force.”
“This is a great opportunity for Australian universities and industry to learn from the leading engineering solutions of WB Electronics,” Mr Zimmer said.
WB Electronics is the parent company of Poland’s biggest private defence group, WB Group, which comprises five companies located throughout the country. WB Group specialises in Communication and Command Systems, and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles.
This partnership follows hot on the heels of Cablex opening an office in Poland, which focuses on providing mechanical and electrical systems solutions for the aerospace and defence industrial sectors while also servicing local and international customers.
